Fraport AG has appointed Felix Toepsch as Vice President of Cargo Development, effective immediately. In his new role, Toepsch will focus on further developing Frankfurt Airport’s cargo business, with an emphasis on growth, digitalisation, business development and improving cargo processes.
Toepsch brings more than a decade of experience at Fraport, having joined the company in 2013 and held positions in business and process development as well as innovation. He has also been closely involved with Frankfurt’s wider air cargo community. Since January 2023, he has served as Executive Director of Air Cargo Community Frankfurt e.V., working with more than 115 companies across the air freight value chain.
During his time with the cargo community, Toepsch supported initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and standardisation at Frankfurt Airport, including a common-use truck slot booking system and shared cargo handling procedures. He has also represented the Frankfurt cargo industry through German and European aviation associations.
Fraport COO Dietmar Focke highlighted Toepsch’s extensive experience at Frankfurt Airport and strong industry network, noting that his background will support the airport’s efforts to strengthen its cargo business and position as a leading European air freight hub.
With Frankfurt facing an increasingly competitive European air cargo market, Toepsch’s appointment comes as the airport continues to focus on cargo growth, operational efficiency, digitalisation and closer collaboration across the logistics chain. His combination of airport experience and industry engagement is expected to support Fraport’s efforts to strengthen Frankfurt’s role as a major European air freight gateway.
