Avianca Cargo announces new route to Viru Viru

Avianca Cargo announced the launch of its scheduled operations to Viru Viru International Airport in Santa Cruz de la Sierra. With this milestone, the company adds a highly strategic destination to its network and strengthens the logistics infrastructure of the Southern Cone.

This new operation directly connects Miami and Bogotá with Viru Viru, enabling the efficient transportation of goods between North America and South America. The route also leverages the strength of Avianca Cargo's Bogotá hub as a key consolidation point, enabling cargo from Europe and the Southern Cone to reach Bolivia more efficiently.

With a capacity of up to 60 tons per flight, the operation is conducted aboard modern Airbus 330 Freighter aircraft. The service is designed to handle both general cargo and specialized shipments, addressing the needs of strategic sectors of the Bolivian economy — including mining, auto parts, pharmaceuticals, e-commerce, and courier, among others — that require more efficient and sophisticated logistics solutions.

"At Avianca Cargo, we continue to invest in the development of new markets, consolidating a network that drives more efficient connections between the Americas and the world. The opening of this operation to Bolivia is especially significant for us, as it strengthens the country's connectivity and directly contributes to the dynamism of its foreign trade," said Diogo Elías, CEO of Avianca Cargo.
