Avianca Cargo reaffirms its commitment to offering its customers consistent, excellent service. With a modern fleet and an increasingly expanded network, the airline strengthens its role as a strategic partner in the region and drives the expansion of its cargo operations with the addition of the new A330P2F.
This aircraft joins Avianca Cargo, completing a fleet, in synergy with Avianca Cargo Mexico, of nine A330 freighters (six A330F and three A330P2F). The new freighter that joins the fleet has a capacity of over 60 tons and shares with the A330s fuel efficiency, greater cargo capacity and volume than other mid-size freighters, while providing flexibility on medium-range routes. These characteristics allow the airline to continue providing a service that adapts to customer needs and maintains the highest quality standards.
“At Avianca Cargo, we celebrate the expansion of our fleet and the arrival of the new A330P2F converted freighter, an aircraft with more than 13 years of history that now joins our fleet to continue reaffirming our commitment to connectivity and service. Today, we reach more than 350 destinations with an expanded network and continue expanding our connections to new markets,” says Diogo Elias, CEO of Avianca Cargo.
Leaders in flower transportation
Likewise, within the framework of Proflora, Avianca Cargo celebrates its leadership in the transportation of flowers from Colombia to the United States. By 2025, the cargo airline had transported more than 100,000 tons of flowers from Ecuador and Colombia to the United States, Europe, and Asia.
Additionally, as part of its commitment to the sector, Avianca Cargo made significant investments last year to strengthen its service. These include the official opening of its new Jetflor at the Medellín Terminal, an 850-square-meter space that increased cargo handling capacity by 50%. It also transformed the Miami cooler configuration to maintain all perishable cargo at optimal temperatures. This has improved service quality and also increased capacity by 83%.
"We are delighted to be strategic partners and leaders in flower transportation. This year, we reaffirmed our leadership in flower transportation to the United States, breaking a historic record, and growing 8% over the past few seasons, above the industry," Diogo added.
In 2024, Colombia achieved outstanding performance in flower exports, reaching $2.35 billion. This remarkable result, driven by 13% growth in value and 8% in volume, consolidated the country's position as the world's second-largest exporter. Furthermore, according to figures from Asocolflores, Colombia remained the main supplier to key markets such as the United States and Spain, among others.
