Air Canada Cargo has announced the opening of a new cold chain facility in London Heathrow. The upgrades to the self-handled facility, Air Canada Cargo’s largest European hub, expand and enhance the carrier’s cold chain handling capabilities for shipments such as pharmaceuticals, fresh food and other perishables.
“Air Canada Cargo continues to invest in key infrastructure across our global network. The upgraded cold chain handling facility in London Heathrow is another step in our customer offering and positions Air Canada Cargo to continue successfully growing its business,” said Jon Turner, Vice President, Cargo, at Air Canada.
The upgraded facility will feature nearly 900 square feet of temperature-controlled areas to fully meet strict industry standards and global regulatory requirements to ensure products stay within the required temperature range.
