WestJet Cargo Joins Freightos

Freightos Limited has announced the integration of WestJet Cargo into its WebCargo and 7LFreight platforms. This collaboration allows freight forwarders to seamlessly access WestJet Cargo's air freight network through these platforms, enabling them to view real-time rates, book shipments electronically (eBookings), and make online payments. WestJet Cargo significantly expands WebCargo's network on key trade routes originating from Calgary (YYC), Canada, connecting it to major international hubs like Tokyo Narita (NRT), London Heathrow (LHR), and Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG). This digital access through WebCargo and 7LFreight grants forwarders reliable access to WestJet Cargo's services, catering to diverse cargo needs, including general freight, perishables, high-value goods, pharmaceuticals, and time-sensitive shipments.

Wayne Tyndall, VP Commercial - Freight Forwarders & Airlines at Freightos, emphasized the value of WestJet Cargo's addition, stating that it connects thousands of forwarders to over 100 destinations across its network, particularly for specialized shipments like perishables and pharmaceuticals. He highlighted the significant growth of eBookings facilitated by WebCargo by Freightos, particularly on routes from Europe to Canada. With the integration of WestJet Cargo, forwarders now have expanded options on crucial trade lanes such as Calgary to Tokyo, London, and Paris.

Kirsten De Bruijn, Executive Vice President at WestJet Cargo, expressed enthusiasm about joining Freightos' platform, stating that it will enhance WestJet Cargo's accessibility to freight forwarders worldwide. This collaboration ensures seamless access to their services on essential trade routes while maintaining reliability and efficiency amidst the evolving demands of global trade.
