Silk Way West Airlines’ Boeing 777F Lands at Navi Mumbai International Airport

Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) welcomed the inaugural Silk Way West Airlines freighter flight from Baku, Azerbaijan, on 15 September 2026 with a ceremonial water cannon salute. The Boeing 777F, the world’s largest twin-engine cargo aircraft, arrived carrying close to 90 tonnes of import cargo, marking the commencement of the airline’s freighter operations at NMIA. The new service strengthens cargo connectivity between Navi Mumbai and Baku, supporting cargo movement between India, the CIS region, Europe, West Asia and beyond, while further strengthening NMIA’s position as an emerging cargo gateway for western India.
