LATAM Group Holds 30% of South American Air Cargo Market

In the context of the World Cargo Symposium (WCS), LATAM group presented the regional results of its cargo operations in South America for 2025, consolidating its leadership with a 30% regional market share.

In 2025, LATAM group’s cargo affiliates transported more than one million tons globally and generated revenues of US$1.7 billion, equivalent to 11.4% of the Group’s consolidated revenues, reaffirming the strategic relevance of the cargo business within its operating model.

Operational performance, international expansion, and the ability to adapt in a demanding logistics environment were recognized in 2025 when LATAM Cargo Group was named “Cargo Airline of the Year” by Air Cargo News, becoming the first South American airline in the past 20 years to receive this global distinction.

“Our leadership in South America is the result of deep market knowledge and a model that combines a dedicated freighter fleet with the capacity of the Group’s passenger aircraft. This integration allows us to offer real flexibility to customers, respond to the seasonality of each industry, and maintain efficient and reliable connectivity throughout the year,” said Santiago Álvarez, Chief Commercial Officer of LATAM Cargo Group.

This regional leadership was accompanied by the company’s largest-ever expansion between Europe and South America, reaching 15 weekly freighter frequencies and increasing capacity by 25% on that corridor. As a result, the Group consolidated the most extensive air cargo network between the two continents, strengthening both perishable exports and industrial and pharmaceutical imports.
