Korean Air has finalized an order with Boeing for eight 777-8 Freighters, strengthening its future freighter fleet and expanding its long-haul cargo capabilities.

The eight 777-8 Freighters form part of Korean Air’s finalized order for 103 Boeing aircraft across the company’s widebody and single-aisle airplane families. While the broader order includes passenger aircraft, the freighter component specifically comprises eight 777-8 Freighters.

The 777-8 Freighter is Boeing’s next-generation twin-engine freighter, designed to combine long-range capability with high payload capacity and improved fuel efficiency compared with previous-generation freighters. The aircraft is based on the Boeing 777X family and incorporates technologies developed for the 777-9 and 777-8 passenger aircraft.

For Korean Air, the acquisition represents an important addition to its long-term cargo fleet strategy. The 777-8 Freighter is designed to provide the range and payload capability required for long-haul cargo operations while offering improved operating efficiency.

The order comes as Korean Air continues to strengthen its fleet for future international operations. The eight aircraft will add next-generation freighter capacity to the airline’s cargo network and support its long-term plans for the development of its air cargo business.
