Hacis Launches Smarter Storage Control System for E-commerce Fulfilment

Hong Kong Air Cargo Industry Services Limited (Hacis) – Hactl’s wholly-owned, value-added services subsidiary – has launched its new Hacis Storage Control System (HSCS), a major upgrade that enhances automation, efficiency and scalability at its E-commerce Fulfilment Centre, supporting the continued growth of global e-commerce business.

Launched in 2020, Hacis E-commerce Fulfilment Centre (HEFC) is equipped with comprehensive facilities to provide one-stop-shop handling services for a wide range of e-commerce shipments. The Centre features the accredited Hacis Cool Zone, offering customers tailor-made integrated fulfilment solutions. With the introduction of HSCS, the Centre’s automation capabilities will be further enhanced, enabling it to handle increasing shipment volumes with greater speed, accuracy and flexibility.

The new system integrates advanced automated storage and retrieval technology with high-speed tote stacker cranes and Automated Guided Vehicles working together to retrieve and deliver inventory to workstations for order processing, creating a seamless “goods-to-person” model. Integrated with a neutral warehouse management system, HSCS also synchronises real-time data with customers' enterprise resource planning systems and e-commerce platforms, providing visibility and inventory control throughout the fulfilment cycle.

By reducing manual handling and streamlining workflows, HSCS significantly improves operational efficiency and inventory accuracy, doubling HEFC’s daily outbound processing capacity while enabling faster turnaround and supporting increasingly demanding fulfilment schedules.

Says Ringo Chan, Executive Director of Hacis: “E-commerce supply chains continue to evolve rapidly, with customers demanding greater speed, visibility and reliability. The introduction of HSCS marks a significant step forward, enabling us to handle higher volumes with improved efficiency and accuracy. This new system reinforces our commitment to innovation and enhances our seamless fulfilment‑to‑flight ecosystem, helping customers connect more effectively with global markets. By deploying new technologies in our operations, Hacis continues to strengthen Hactl’s position as a premium end‑to‑end air cargo service provider at one of the world’s leading aviation hubs.”
